What Went Down In 2010 NBA Free Agency

Big Three in Miami during the NBA Free Agency of 2010

Unless, you have been living under a rock, you have probably heard plenty about the developments of this year’s free agency period. Most of the ado was about Lebron James, the now, former, Cleveland Cavaliers star. There had been rumblings the last few years concerning whether or not Lebron would leave Cleveland. There were those individuals who felt that James was too big of a star for the small, mid-west city and that he would eventually move on to a bigger market.

The New York Knicks, who cleared a ton of cap room supposedly just for this purpose and the Chicago Bulls were the front runners. Many people felt that Chicago would be a good fit because it was a mid-western city just like Cleveland but with a bigger market. Add to this fact that Jordan, arguably the best player of all time, played there and it seemed like the perfect match, except that it wasn’t.

Lebron decided to pack up and head down south, to South Beach, where the weather is warmer and the girls very pretty. James will join Dwyane Wade, who was also a free agent but decided to stay in Miami and Chris Bosh, another heralded free agent. The trio make up, what may be, the most explosive in recent history.

In other 2010 Free Agent news, Amare Stoudemire and Carlos Boozer also had the opportunity to test the market. Stoudemire developed into a b-ball stud in Phoenix. An explosive player, he was highly coveted this offseason despite the fact that he has had knee problems. Carlos Boozer was a long time member of the Utah Jazz. Both men decided to leave and sign on with new teams. Boozer became a Chicago Bull and Stoudemire took “his talents” to New York.

Every NBA betting fan will be glued to their seats next year when Bosh, Boozer, Stoudemire, Wade and James guys play next year, especially when Lebron and company (or is it Wade and company?) plays. The 2010-2011 National Basketball Association (NBA) season promises to be an eventful one.
