Alex Rodriguez finally made baseball history by hitting his 600th homerun the other day. The exact date of Arods #600 was August 4th, 2010. It came on a 2-0, 2 out, fastball by Shaun Marcum of the Toronto Bluejays. Rodriguez crushed the 600th homerun deep into center field. This is truly historic as it’s the fastest any player in Major League history has reached 600 home runs.
The whispers were out lately as AROD had been struggling to get #600. It took him 46 bats without a homerun before he finally nailed number 600. The list of all-time homerun leaders in front of him now includes Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Sammy Sosa, Ken Griffey Jr.
Alex Rodriguez got a nice curtain call after he hit number 600. Yankee fans truly cheered and celebrated this great moment in MLB history. Some are calling 600 homeruns the “new 400″ in reference to it being the steroid era. How do you feel about his 600 homeruns? Are they tainted? Do you care? Personally I think it’s still a great feat. I’m one that doesn’t get to caught up in the record books and how they are tainted, etc… How about you?
Regardless, congrats to Alex Rodriguez on hitting number 600 homerun. 700 will be coming in a few years.
