New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings Odds & Prediction: Week 1

Thursday Night!!! NFL Week 1 Opening Night. The Super Bowl champion, New Orleans Saints will host the Minnesota Vikings in the first game of the 2010 season. What a great way to start the season with two powerhouse football teams. The game starts at 7:30 CST and will be aired on the NFL Network.

Remember back to last years NFL playoffs? The New Orleans Saints beat the Minnesota Vikings to get to the Super Bowl. They won that game 31-28 and if you remember, really beat up Brett Favre. Favre will be ready for some payback this year but he’ll have to do it in a hostile environment. The Super Dome will be absolutely rocking as the New Orleans Saints begin to defend their title.

Saints Vs. Vikings Odds

So let’s take a look at the odds on this game. The New Orleans Saints come in at -5 favorites over the Minnesota Vikings. The odds moved from -4 to -5 over the last few days. The Over/Under Odds on this game are set at 48 points. So let’s take a stab at who’s going to cover these odds.

Saints vs. Vikings Prediction

First of all, stay away from the over/under. 48 is about right at the mark but you just never know what can happen with these offenses. I’d lean over the 48 points but I’m not betting on that for nothing. As for the spread, the Saints -5 is the play here. Drew Brees returns nearly his entire team from the 2009 Super Bowl Champs. Brett Favre will be a little rusty and we know that Saints Defense can get after it. Look for the Saints momentum to be way to much for the Vikings. We like the Vikings to beat the Saints 34-24 in the NFL Season opener on Thursday.
