Pujols Hits His 400th Homerun

Albert Pujols is one of baseball’s good guys. He tends to routinely do good things both on and off the field. Because of this, his most recent milestone couldn’t have happened to a better man. Pujols hit the 400th home run in what has been a very illustrious career on August 26th. His latest homer came in the fourth inning on a 0-1 count.

Pujols is now just one of 47 men in Major League Baseball to ever hit 400 homeruns in their career. The big hit came against the Washington Nationals, who recently experienced a setback when their rookie stud, Stephen Strasburg tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. He will have to undergo the Tommy John surgery in order to repair it and is expected to be out 12-18 months.

Albert Pujols 400th blast was placed right over the right-center field wall. Jordan Zimmerman was the pitcher. At only 30 years old Albert Pujols becomes one of the youngest players to ever attain 400 home runs. He is the third youngest. It took him 10 seasons to do it and 5,615 bats, making him the fifth fastest man to do so.

This year, Pujols leads the league in homeruns hit, with 34. He still has more games to add to that total. His recent homers have propelled him past several notable players. They include Al Kaline, Graig Nettles, al Kaline, Jim Edmonds, Dale Murphy, Joe Carter and Andres Galarraa on the all-time list.

Pujols has been on a pretty hot streak. His last blast was the 11th in 22 games. Knowing the slugger, he probably has plenty more in him. Albert Pujols is undeniably one of the best players in the game. At only 30 years young, hopefully, he has a lot left in the tank, at least for the sake of the fans. Being able to watch a future hall of famer is a real treat for any baseball lover.
