UFC 103 – 9/19 American Airlines Center in Dallas, Tx
Welcome everyone for today’s picks for the UFC 103 fight card. There are a lot of fights to choose from but I have selected a few that I think should be a good picks for this event.
Lets start with some undercards:
Mirko Cro Cop(25-6) +105 vs Junior Dos Santos (8-1)
I am a huge Cro Cop fan and his fights in the UFC has been very disappointing. Cro Cop is a superstar which has been fighting like a amateur high school musical fighter. This should be his last fight if he wants to continue to fight for the UFC. Like most fans, we are still waiting for his Knock Out power punches and kicks. Junior in the other hand, is no joke. Junior also has knock out power and this fight should be a very interesting match up. Cro Cop is the underdog and getting +105 is a good bet.
Tyson Griffin(13-2) vs Hermes Franca(20-7)+210
This fight should be exciting. People forget who Hermes Franca is. He is a black belt in jujitsu and people think he has no ground game. Tyson Griffin is a ground and pounder, which means he would like to take his opponents to the ground and punch them. If he decides to take Hermes to the ground, look for a submission by hermes. Tyson will be very careful but standing toe to toe with Hermes is a bad mistake also. I do not see how they have Tyson favorite in this match up. Upset pick Hermes +210.
Main Event
Rich Franklin(27-4)-150 vs Vitor Belfort(18-8)
This fight is really hard to determine the outcome because Vitor has not fought for 4+ years. Not sure what made him stop fighting because he is only 32 years old and should be in his prime. I do not know how his conditioning is but I know that Vitor has 1 punch knock out power. In the other hand, I know what Rich has been doing in his last several fight. I know what he is capable of doing. People forget our great Rich franklin was before he fought Anderson Silva and pretty much destroyed his career. I say destroyed because there is no chance he will ever win the middle weight belt again unless Silva retires. So he moved up in weight class to fight in the light heavyweight to get away from Anderson Silva. HEY guess what??? Anderson Silva moved up weight classes too! The thing is, Rich is a great fighter and he will have a chance for the light heavyweight belt if he beats Vitor, then probably someone like Rampage or Rashad evans. For this fight, I would pick Rich Franklin to win in a split decision.
